Sunnyside Enrichment Center is partnered with Great Start to Quality. Great start helps families find high quality care. They also help educators improve the care they provide to children ,set quality standards for early care and education programs as well as provides support to early care and education providers.
Sunnyside Enrichment Center is a high quality program. We received the highest rating by demonstrating quality and meeting threshold scores during on-site observation.

Dedicated Educators
Our classes are taught by dedicated and experienced educators. Using proven teaching strategies, they make sure that every student finds a path to success. It is our main focus for our educators to provide high quality early educational experiences for every child in our school. We provide endless opportunities for our staff to improve skill development and career guidance.
Our staff works with the T.E.A.C.H. Program which provides scholarships for staff continuing their education in early childhood. We also partner with Great Start To Quality STARS, which is a program that measures the quality of early childhood providers by using indicators aligned with Michigan's Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Infants, Toddlers, Pre-School and Pre-Kindergarten programs.
Sunnyside Enrichment Staff also receives training yearly to stay current on child development issues and best practices in the classroom through MI Registry.

Positive Behavior Support
- When children exhibit challenging behavior in our classrooms, it is very important that our teachers are prepared to create a development opportunity to engage all children with positive learning experiences, through research-based methods and strategies.
- At Sunnyside we love to encourage our parents and teachers to have open communication to express exciting learning goals that have been met and or challenges in the classroom. We have many forms of communication (daily sheets, in-person and or phone conferences, daily folder communication forms and Class Dojo!
- To further communication with families we use Class Dojo. This is a FREE app that is used to communicate with teachers and to view photos and video of the fun things your child is experiencing at Sunnyside.
- With registration, we ask that all guardians complete the class dojo form and return. Once completed you may join us on class dojo the following business day!
